Located at the entrance to Zell am See’s pedestrian zone, the Hotel & Restaurant Zum Hirschen has been serving meals for over 100 years. Today, the menu features Austrian cuisine with a distinct style, and the restaurant has been awarded a rating by Gault&Millau.

Dining takes place in one of the four dining rooms. The Zirbenstube seats up to 50 people; there’s also the Rathausstube, the Sängerstube, and the Stüberl. In total, the restaurant can seat about 160 guests indoors. In both summer and winter, the covered, heated terrace—with about 50 seats—is open right in the middle of the pedestrian zone.

In the kitchen, Executive Chef René Fichtner calls the shots. Together with his team, he combines regional ingredients with classics of Austrian cuisine, infusing them with a clean, contemporary style. The dishes are meticulously crafted and have been awarded two Gault&Millau toques and 83 Falstaff points. This is complemented by a select wine list and attentive service that ensures a relaxed and unhurried dining experience.

Culinary Getaway Breakfast and half-board

The day begins for hotel guests with a generous breakfast buffet and a selection of regional products. In the evening, guests can choose between à la carte dining and the half-board menu. A stay featuring fine cuisine, short distances, and a table right here in the hotel.

When there's snow outside, our fondue parlour opens. For 30 euros per person, you dip in together, chat and add more to the pot. The day, on the other hand, starts at the breakfast buffet, daily from 7.30 to 10 a.m. House guests round off their stay with half board including a 4-course menu for 35 euros per person, except on Sundays.
